We are seeking a Chef to join our ISS team in Wacol employed on a Full Time basis.

The Chef will be responsible for managing daily food preparation at the onsite cafeteria, as well as the production and implementation of menus in line with contractual obligations, which are designed to deliver an innovative, safe, dining experience.

The Chef will regularly liaise with the Cafe Supervisors (one from the onsite Cafe and one from the onsite Cafeteria) as well as with the Facility Manager regarding requirements for each site and any changes to menus.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet food preparation and service requirements.
  • Maintain hygienic food service techniques during service.
  • Take responsibility for all designated food section and station.
  • Ensure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.
  • Prepare and cook all food items in specific area of responsibility with a sense of urgency.
  • Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure that work area, equipment and section is kept clean at all times, in accordance with current health and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements and advise the supervisor of these well in advance.
  • Monitor food preparation and wastage costs control these by following efficient preparation methods and standard recipes.

What you can offer:

  • Previous experience as a chef or cook in a large commercial kitchen environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong focus on safety, the environment and compliance
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to a schedule
  • Fit, active and energetic to be able to bend, stand and lift
  • Customer-focused with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a clean and neat personal appearance
  • Clear criminal background with police check dated within 3 months
  • Certificate II or III in Commercial Cookery is desirable
